How to Get Norton Internet Security to Allow File Sharing on My Network

Norton Internet Security blocks local network file sharing options by default when you first install it. In order to allow file sharing, you need to change the trust level of the network from inside Norton Internet Security. Once you perform this action, you’ll be able to share files back and forth on the computer that Norton Internet Security is installed on.
Instructions

  • Open Norton Internet Security, then open the “Network Security Map.”

  • Click on your local network, then click the “Edit” button under the “Network Details” menu.

  • Click on the “Edit” button next to the “Trust Level” section, then select “Full Trust.”

  • Click the “OK” button twice, then click “Close.”
